Sustainability
Recycled Materials Company, Inc. (RMCI) is dedicated to zero waste on construction and demolition projects. To date, RMCI has recycled more than 38 million tons of concrete and asphalt into specification aggregates. Recycling offers benefits to customers, communities, and the environment.

Reuse of asphalt and concrete aggregates:
  • Reduces the mining of virgin aggregate materials.
  • Reduces or eliminates truck traffic that would haul material to and from a project.
  • Eases landfill burdens by recycling aggregates back into development.
  • Reduces the carbon footprint of a construction project.
  • Produce specification sized recycled aggregate at your job location.
  • Minimize community impacts of import and export trucking.
  • Avoid haul-off costs and landfill disposal fees.
  • Reduce job cost - recycled aggregate yields more volume by weight - up to 15%
  • Increase project efficiency and improve job cost – recycled aggregate yields more volume by weight – up to 15%.
  • Concrete solid waste stream is estimated at 400 – 600 M tons per annum.
  • Recycling captures approximately half waste stream at present.
  • Concrete and asphalt are the largest single recycled material in the U.S. and can potentially double waste stream reduction.
